📍 Where? Highlands | 3555 N. Pecos Street Denver, CO 80211
🗓️ When? Thursdays 10/23, 10/30, 11/6 from 5:30-8:30PM

In Garment Sewing 2.0: Jilebi Jumper / Sweater, you’ll explore garment construction techniques for knit fabrics, learn how to handle stretchy materials with confidence and create a stylish crewneck sweatshirt customized to your fit and fabric choice.

Over three evenings—Oct 23, Oct 30, and Nov 6 (5:30–8:30 PM)—you’ll work step by step toward completing your own wearable piece. Along the way, you’ll gain skills you can use for future garment projects and the pride of saying, “I made this!”

Here’s what to expect during each class session:

  • Session #1: Fabric selection, fabric prep, taking body measurements, marking and cutting
  • Session #2: Reading pattern instructions, construction and assembly of main garment pieces, fit check, finishing seams
  • Session #3: Adjustments, construction and assembly of all cuffs, final fit check, finishing seams & topstitching

At the end of class, you’ll also receive your own PDF copy of the Jilebi Jumper pattern by Patterns by Paary, so you can create additional sweatshirts in the future!

Class fee includes: PDF pattern, fabric, usage of sewing machines, tools and notions, and white or black thread for your project. Students will be able to choose their fabric from various solid color knit fabrics. **If you choose our BYO-fabric option, please consult the Jilebi Jumper’s Fabric Requirements before class and make sure to bring your fabric to class.

Whether you’re looking to expand beyond the basics or want to add garment sewing to your skill set, this class gives you the guidance, practice, and community support to succeed.

This class is for confident beginners and built for those who have taken our Intro to Sewing 1.0 course or are already proficient at using a sewing machine. Students are expected to already know how to operate a sewing machine, including threading the machine, winding the bobbin, straight stitch, back stitch and cutting fabric.

Our classes include usage of our domestic Brother sewing machines. If you have your own sewing machine, you are welcome to bring it, as long as it is from the last 30 years and in working order. Please make sure it has a fresh needle (if you don’t know how to replace your needle, bring a fresh one and we can help!) and that you bring your plug and pedal. Personal sewing machines that are in working order enable us to provide a high quality learning and sewing experience for everyone in class. If your machine needs to be serviced, we reserve the right to ask you to use one of our class machines.
